Hallmarked for Birmingham 1900, this is a bar brooch with a scroll either side of a central heart. The heart has the applied initials E. R. (Edward Rex), with the engraved words "Ascended the Throne Jan 24, 1901. E. VII R". The side scrolls are engraved "Crowned June 26, 1902". Maker’s name on rear of brooch is S. Bros. The little box has "Coronation Souvenirs" with a crown printed in gold inside the lid. Brooch measures 4.6 cm by 2 cm (1.13/16 inch by 3/4 inch).
