Large Sterling Silver Hair Clip.
A large hair clip, with opening hinged rear prongs. Made in sterling silver, and engraved on the front with a flower and leaves design. Face of slide measures 10.3 cm long by 1.6 cm deep (4 inches by 5/8 inch). Very good condition. Weight approx. 15 grms. We have a smaller hair slide with identical engraving elsewhere in this category.

Sterling Silver Capped Smelling Salts Bottle.
An English smelling salts bottle, with cut crystal bottle and sterling silver screw cap top. The cap reveals an inner stopper. Silver cap is hallmarked for Birmingham 1913. Measures 7.2cm high (2.13/16 inch) and 5cm (2 inches) diameter at the base. Very good condition - inner rim has two chips, and the little stopper has the minutest of nibbles to its top edge. Unusual, attractive shape to the bottle.

Pretty silver hair slide, stamped "Sterling" to the rear. Face of slide has an engraved design of flower and leaves. Hair clip at rear is hinged clipped prong. Face of slide measures 6.5 cm long by 10.2 cm deep (2.1/2 inches by 1/2 inch). Excellent condition. We have a larger hair clip with the same design elsewhere in this category.

1906 Sterling Lidded Oval Dressing Table Jar.
Edwardian period ornate sterling silver-topped dressing table jar - the top is hallmarked for Birmingham 1906, maker is N.Brothers. Pretty design of flowers, scrolls and lattice. The initial "M" is faintly engraved in the presentation panel. (Could stand for Mother, if you want to give it as a present!) The oval crystal jar beneath has faceted long panels.
Whole jar measures 10cm high, and 7cm by 4.5cm (4 inches high, and 2.3/4 inches by 1.3/4 inches). Condition is excellent, with no damage at all to the base, and just one small shallow indentation area in the top.

A beaded evening bag, dating from the 1920s. White and silver beads in a leaf pattern, with a satin-lined interior, and a wrist handle on the rear. Hand sewn inside and out. Bag measures 17 cm wide (6.3/4 inches) and 10.5 cm deep (4.1/4 inches). Very good condition.

Large Angel’s Heads Sterling Silver Mirror
Angel’s heads embossed in sterling silver form the pattern for this large size English-made hand mirror. Hallmarks are for Birmingham 1908, so Edwardian period. Maker’s mark is W.D. This matches a salts bottle, button hook and hairbrush we have elsewhere on this site.
Condition is overall very very good - there is a little bit of crushed silver on the very tip of the handle, and some minor crushing to edges - all confined to the very extreme of the edges, and not visible from either side. The glass has a few minor sratches, but no loss of silvering. Mirror measures 28.75 cm long (11.1/4 inches) and 16 cm wide (6.1/4 inches).

A pretty hat pin, measuring 17.3 cm long (6.3/4 inches). The head is double sided, rose gold with a little turquoise bead set centrally. The steel shaft has a little discolouration, otherwise in excellent condition.

Dragonfly Hair Slide.
Gorgeous vintage hair slide - diamantes and an imitation pearl. The pearl is losing its lustre coat in the middle, but firstly, its not really so noticeable unless you’re looking for it, and secondly, the bead could be easily replaced. Slide measures 2.5 cm by 2.5 cm (1 inch by 1 inch). Stamped on the back N.J.Y. in oval shield.

A vintage hat pin - a green plastic bead measuring 1cm diameter (3/8 inch) on a long metal pin. Hatpin measures a total of 11cm long (4.1/4 inches). Very good condition. A few dark patches on the pin, but quite smooth. Probably 1930s.

Silver Manicure Set in Original Box, 1927.
A beautiful boxed manicure set - the box folds out, and has a mirror-lined lid. The six manicure tools all have sterling silver handles, and plated steel lowers, except the two pairs of scissors (one straight, one curved) which are all steel. The set also contains two ointment bottles and a nail buffer. The bottles are crystal with sterling silver lids engraved ..something L, and the buffer is silver with a chamois leather pad.
Hallmarks are for Birmingham 1927. Maker’s mark is W.D.
This set is in excellent condition throughout - there are minor faults such as wear to the internal silk which covers a hinge, some scuffing to the implements, and a small dent on the edge of one lid - but overall it is in stunning condition for its age.
Box measures 5 cm high, and 20 cm by 12.25 cm ( 2 inches high, and 8 inches by 4.2/3 inches).

Very Early Marcel Iron Curling Tongs.
Curling tongs - made in iron and stamped Marcel 10. Perfect for the 19th century lady to curl her hair - or singe it if they were too hot. They are quite large, measuring 17 cm long (10.3/4 inches). Excellent original condition.
