Vintage Large Pin Cushion with Beadwork. Very large Victorian style pin cushion -possibly for hatpins (it can’t be a foot cushion, because the top has an elaborate embroidery in pearls (simulated), mother of pearl leaves, glass beads and central oval glass stone). Pearl and gold wire trim to cushion edges. Measurements: 24 cm by 18 cm and about 9 cm thick (9.1/2 inches by 7 inches and 3.1/2 inches). Very Victorian in style. It is stuffed with something quite solid and hard. Very pretty old item. Some minor faults to edge beads, otherwise in very good condition.

Victorian Bone Scrimshaw Manicure Tool. Tiny little scrimshaw manicure tool - iron file in middle of rear side, cuticle pusher at one end, and nail parer at other. The scrimshaw is a bird with a letter in its beak, with two little motifs at either end. Made by a sailor for his sweetheart - maybe the bird with a letter is a reminder for her to write to him. Measures 65 mm by 7 mm (2.1/2 inches by 1/4 inch). Excellent condition, just a little normal bloom on the iron. 19th century.

Early 20th Century Mourning Hatpin, Black. Black mourning hatpin - black bead finial and steel shaft. Pin measures 9 cm long (3.1/2 inches). Bead is 7 mm diameter (1/4 inch). Some small corrosion spots to the shaft bottom, but overall in excellent condition.

Large Angel’s Heads Sterling Silver Mirror Angel’s heads embossed in sterling silver form the pattern for this large size English-made hand mirror. Hallmarks are for Birmingham 1908, so Edwardian period. Maker’s mark is W.D. This matches a salts bottle and a button hook we have elsewhere on this site.
Condition is overall very very good - there is a little bit of crushed silver on the very tip of the handle, and some minor crushing to edges - all confined to the very extreme of the edges, and not visible from either side. The glass has a few minor sratches, but no loss of silvering. Mirror measures 28.75 cm long (11.1/4 inches) and 16 cm wide (6.1/4 inches).

Edwardian Hatpin, Very Long, Gold, Turquoise. A pretty hat pin, measuring 17.3 cm long (6.3/4 inches). The head is double sided, rose gold with a little turquoise bead set centrally. The steel shaft has a little discolouration, otherwise in excellent condition.

Sterling Silver 3 items for Manicure. English sterling silver Edwardian period manicure trio, hallmarked for Birmingham 1902. Maker’s mark: L & S. They each measure 12 cm long (4.3/4 inches).
(NB. THE PHOTO SHOWS A LONG BUTTON HOOK , BUT THIS IS FOR SALE SEPARATELY ELSEWHERE IN THIS CATEGORY. THE ITEMS HERE FOR SALE ARE THE THREE SMALLER MANICURE ITEMS).
Very pretty handles with foliate scrolls, in excellent condition. Good Sheffield steel rods for the operative ends. The nail file even has an indented ridge on the sides of the blade for doing the tops of your nails. The steel has a little dark bloom in places, but is in very good condition. Very attractive set from 1902.

Art Deco Silver and Enamel Hairbrush. Stylish sterling silver hairbrush, with guilloche enamel back in soft beige/gold. Engine-turned engraving under enamel of checkers and waves. Hall marked for Birmingham in the Royal Jubilee year of 1935. Maker: A.C. Pure bristle brush on wood backing.
Hairbrush measures 23 cm long (9 inches). One or two tiny minor marks in the silver sides, but otherwise excellent condition.
