Click for more detail... 1096	14ct Gold Drop Hoop and Pearl Earrings. A pair of screw-fit earrings, 14ct gold with a lobed club shape set with a cultured pearl. From this is suspended a flat graduated ribbed hoop, with a small ribbed roundel set with a further pearl suspended in turn from inside the hoop. Total earring length is 4cm (1.5/8 inches). Click for more detail... 2309	14ct Gold, Pearl Grape Earrings and Pendant. A pretty pair of 14ct gold earrings in the shape of a bunch of grapes, with ribbon bow at the stem. The grapes are 6 cultured pearls, each 5mm diameter (3/16 inch). The earrings are screw-back fitting, and measure 2.75cm by 1.6cm ( 1.1/8 inch by 5/8 inch). The leaves have detailed engraved veins etc. The pendant is the same, except that there is no veining on the leaves, and the pearls are 4mm diameter (1/8 inch). All in excellent condition. Each little natural ruby chip is suspended on a gold wire. These are low grade but totally genuine natural rubies. Earrings measure just over 5 cm long from the ear (2 inches). These are blister pearls from the New Zealand paua shellfish, a pearl only recently able to be harvested, when at last techniques to farm the paua were perfected. The shells of this shell fish are often made into jewellery, but the pearls are hard to cultivate, and are therefore valuable for their beauty and comparative rarity. The colours are beautiful iridescent greens and blues. These earrings have backs suitable for pierced ears, and also 14ct gold clips for unpierced ears. If you want to wear them for clips only, just have a jeweller remove the pierced ears post. A perfect gift, since they are suitable for both types of ear fitting.
