Pair Old Spelter Vancouver Souvenir Napkin Ri Full of character! This pair of early napkin rings - made in spelter, or it could be Britannia metal, they depict scenes from Vancouver, featuring the Canadian Pacific Railway Station, the Dominion Trust Building and the General Post Office. The backgrounds of the scenes and the souvenir panel are gilded. Napkin rings measure 3 cm high and 5 cm diameter (1.1/4 inches by 2 inches). Excellent vintage condition.

C8511
Set 8 Metal and Ceramic Drawer Handles. 8 drawer pulls - each is 12.75 cm wide ( 5 inches) and 1.9 cm deep (3/4 inch). They stand out by about 1 inch from the drawer surface. Metal looks sort of brassy, but it’s not brass. The centre ceramic section is a beige colour. These are quite some years old but stamped on the rear is "Taiwan". They are all in very good used condition (i.e. metal is rather dull) and there is just one which has a tiny short hairline on the ceramic bit - but it is quite sound, and only mentioned for accuracy On one, the ceramic part could do with regluing to the metal rod.
Circa: 1970s?
Condition: Very Good - see description

Click for more detail...
C8776
Art Nouveau Heavy Metal Jewellery Casket Quite a large jewellery casket, with heavily embossed Art Nouveau design of poppies. There’s even a poppy underneath. The inside has no lining. I’m not sure what the metal is - either spelter or Britannia metal, and it was once plated, but this has mostly worn off. There is a maker’s stamp on the inside of one leg "1069", otherwise no marks. Overall very good condition - no dents or damage. Quite a striking piece of work! Measures about 12 cm high, 21 cm wide and 10 cm deep (4.3/4 inches by 8.1/4 inches by 4 inches).
Circa: Very Early 20th Century
Condition: Very Good - see description

3718
Oriental Antimony Inkwell. A small inkwell, probably Japanese, but could be Chinese. It is made in the metal antimony, and decorated with a beautiful pattern of chrysanthemums in high relief. The lid hinges open to reveal a white glass inkwell liner. The liner has a sort of chip on the inner rim (see photo) - it’s not at all sharp, rather rounded in fact, could be old, or in the manufacture, as the glass is moulded , and quite crude. Inkwell measures 6cm x 5cm (2.3/8 inches x 2.1/8 inches). About 3cm high (1.1/4 inches). It is in very good condition although there is an ink stain under the lid (which may well clean off). Probably dates from 1920s-50s. Airmail Post to North America: US$6.75.
Circa: Early 20th century
Condition: Very Good - See description

Circa: Early to mid 20th century

2330
Arts and Crafts Motto Photo Frame. An Arts and Crafts period photo frame, made in bronzed metal. The frame surround is a scene, with a woman in Georgian style dress, seated in a Georgian corner chair, in a panelled room (you just know its oak panelling) - she holds a small object in her hand (a miniature of the loved one?), and is facing an open window, where the photo itself fits. The motto below the “window” reads “ Where’er you be, On land or sea, Fair Fortune send Prosperity”. Quite!
Frame measures 23.5cm high by 17.5cm wide (9.1/4 inches b y 6.3/4 inches). The rear is an easel stand, in card. It is somewhat worn, and has a replacement piece in one corner.
The metal front of the frame has two small screw holes, and very minor distortions to the under-edge at the top. Otherwise, very good condition. A charming item.

Click for more detail...
C7439
Victorian Sad Iron, Three Bases. Vintage steel sad irons - wooden handle still in good working order. It clips onto its various bases - there are two number "2" bases, stamped with the maker’s name Taylor Forbes Ltd, Guelph. Canada.
The third base has shaped or worn heel, and appears to be a brass-coloured metal, possibly bronze. It is smaller, and unmarked. Larger bases measure 17.5 cm long (just under 7 inches), and the smaller measures 16 cm (6.1/4 inches) long, and has a rather loose top - may need screwing up, there are large screws there. The Canadian bases show some surface rust, but nothing serious - one has rust under the handle clip area, but this would not effect ironing. All very heavy!
Circa: Late 19th to Early 20th Century
