C9392

Round Mirror, 1920s, with Moulded Fruits. Super little 1920s mirror - very shabby chic, with fruit moulded frame (pomegranates, apples, pears etc.). It has bevelled glass which has wear to the silvering on one area. Rear can either be table mounted for your dressing table, as it has an easel stand (very folk art heart in it), or you can hang it on the wall. Gilded outer edge. Measurements: 26 cm diameter (10.1/4 inches). Apart from the wear to the old mirror silvering, there are a few age cracks in the moulding, but its all really part of the charm.
Circa: 1920s
Condition: Some old faults, see description

4435

Pair Venetian Glass Chandeliers. Lovely outrageous vintage Venetian glass chandeliers. They have a lower "pineapple" finial, curving glass leaves and three glass long stemmed daisies on each one. Each has three lights. One has a small amount of damage, most of which is repaired. It has a chip on the edge of the very tip of the lower finial, a leaf which was broken off in a straight line and repaired, and the lower bowl has a repaired three way break. Once these are on your ceiling, these shouldn’t be noticeable at all. One silver-coloured collar to the bottom of the light is missing, but these are replaceable - just paint one the silver colour of the others.
Chandeliers measure about 74 cm high (you can make it longer if necessary by using chain above the fitting), they are about 54 cm diameter. (29 inches by 21.1/2 inches). Gorgeous things! Quite OTT.
Shipping outside New Zealand would be quite expensive.
Circa: 1920s plus
Condition: Very Good - See Description

C4395

Art Nouveau Clouded Pink Glass Ceiling Light. A bowl suspended on three brass chains, this beautiful Art Nouveau period light fitting has brass rosehead fittings where the chains join the bowl. The glass is similar to French Daum or Nancy items, and is a beautiful cloudy pink and frosted colour.
This light was bought quite some time ago in London from the antique department of John Lewis Ltd.
There is no maker’s name to the glass, and Lewis’s had polished the brass fittings.
It measures about 63.5 cm (25 inches) from the ceiling fitting to the bottom of the bowl, and the bowl is approx. 30 cm diameter (12 inches) - although it looks a lot bigger! I am measuring this from the ground as it is hung high up and I can’t get up to it, so may be a bit out. Excellent condition.
Circa: 1910 plus
Condition: Excellent

1719

Folk Art Painted European Coffer, 19th C. Large pine coffer, 19th century, with fairly crudely painted design of stylized flowers in panels on front, and to lid in the style of a marriage chest. Inside it has a candle box to the left side, and iron hinges and lock - the lock is a large complicated affair, and I have no key!
Coffer is in very good used condition - very good interior, and nice naturally distressed paint work outside. I don’t know if the painting is original to it, but it certainly has some age.
Lovely character decorator item and very, very useful.
Coffer measures 59 cm high, 62 cm deep and 139 cm wide (about 23 inches high, by 24.1/2 inches deep and 54.1/2 inches wide).
Circa: 19th Century
Condition: Very Good - see description

Click for more detail...
C6766

Oak Arts and Crafts Sideboard, 1920s. New Zealand Arts & Crafts movement sideboard - made in oak, with glazed doors and shallow mirror back. Character details, like overlay of oak to the glazing, and extensions of the top at the sides. Nice smaller size makes it easy to fit in anywhere.
Came from its original cottage homestead, built in the 1920s. Been there since new.
Measures 133 cm high, 141 cm wide and 48 cm deep.
In very good condition - only small faults are: one glass pane is cracked - however, the glass is an oblong, as the oak detailing is overlaid, so easy to get a replacement pane cut. There is a slight plank separation at one end of the top - again, would settle down with a clamp and some glue, or just leave it, its not an eyesore. One piece of the oak overlay on the glass needs gluing - again, minor. There is a small amount of old borer at one side. Has been treated.
Circa: 1920s
Condition: Very Good - see description
