Blue and White Oriental Ceramic Box.
A lovely little late 19th century, maybe early 20th century, handpainted Oriental ceramic lidded box. Measures 9cm wide,5.5cm deep and 4cm high. (approx. 3.1/2 inches x 2.1/4 inches x 1.1/2 inches). Has old chip on corner of lid, otherwise very good condition.

Ko Kutani Style Japanese Vase.
An early ovoid-shaped Japanese vase, painted with a ho-ho bird amongst scrolling tendrils. Stylised chrysanthemum blossoms to the shoulders. Handpainted - Ko Kutani in style.
Vase measures 18.5cm high (7.1/4 inches) and approx. 14cm diameter (5.1/2 inches). Excellent condition.

Antique Lacquered Vase, Large.
A large black metal vase, with Japanese style lacquer work in red and gold of a bird flying through wisteria blossom. Vase measures 33cm high (13 inches) and approx. 18cm (7 inches) wide at its widest point. Under the base, there is the scratched name "Dresdor. France", but this vase is probably Japanese or Chinese. Maybe it was bought in France. No chips or cracks, just a few spots in the lacquer, and fading to the brick red design. A very Edwardian looking vase, would look great with large flowers. Would date from late 19th to early 20th century.

Three Matching Dragonware Saucers.
Three saucers, fine porcelain Japanese dragon ware, each measuring 14cm diameter (5.1/2 inches). These match a teapot set and some side plates that we have elsewhere in this category. They are in excellent condition, with just one tiny chip to the gold band. The pattern of the dragon is raised and has a scaly effect created by enamel dots. Gold rims, and on the reverse side is a lustre ware glaze, and a mark in red reading “Yamada China, Japan” with a leaves or wreath motif. Very pretty - could be mounted on a wall to good effect.

Chinese Porcelain Wine Ewer.
A wine ewer with attractive hand painted polychrome decoration and small pouring spout. The decoration is of vases and pots with flowers and censors. There are four lugs surround the pot, in the same colour as the spout. Various Chinese letterings in the decoration. Four character mark, with frame. Overglaze red. The mark is Shendetang zhi (Made for the Hall of the Cultivation of Virtue). Popularised by the Daoguang Emperor (1820-1850). However, I don’t know the age of this item. Excellent condition, no chips or cracks. Measures 20cm high (8 inches) and is 21cm wide (8.1/4 inches).

Large Lidded Chinese Pot, Blue Decoration.
A large Chinese earthenware pot, with heavy lid. The finial looks like a seated animal, and the pot has rather crude decoration of fish and foliage. The whole has a very degraded glaze (or perhaps it was never glazed), and almost a sort of white "wash" over it. The inside is glazed inside the lid, and on the inside base. Pot has markings on underside as shown in photo. Pot and lid measures approx. 29cm high (11.1/2 inches), and is approx. 20cm diameter (8 inches) at its widest point. Very good condition, no chips or cracks.

Vintage Oriental Porcelain Flask.
A small vintage Oriental bottle flask, decorated with flowers on a brick coloured background. Long spout (for pouring tea or rice wine?). Has a small chip to edge of bottle neck rim, otherwise in very good condition. Has seal type mark in red (faded) on bottom, but I can’t decipher it. Measures 11cm (4.1/4 inches) high.

Japanese Urn, Lacquer over Ceramic.
A black lacquer over earthen-ware lidded urn, standing 18.5cm high (7.1/4 inches). Diameter: 11cm (4.3/8 inches). It has two panels which stand a little proud of the body of the vase - these have chrysanthemums on one panel, and peonies on the other. Between these two panels is a lacquered scene in gold on black of sailing boats on a lake, with cottages and Mt Fuji in the background. The reverse side of the vase has a rooster and hen among bamboo. Diaper pattern to top neck. A very pretty vase - some chips to the lacquer around the neck rim and underneath, exposing the ceramic body beneath. There is a crack in the neck rim, which runs about 6cm down the side inside (2.1.4 inches). Just visible as a hairline on the outside. Chips to lacquer on lid. Would date from the early 20th century.

Large Kutani Vase, Painted Panels.
A very large Japanese Kutani vase, measuring 44.5 cm high and approx. 18 cm diameter (17.1/2 inches high and about 7 inches diameter). It features two main hand painted panels, one of samurai, and the other a domestic scene, with a harbour in the background. All around the vase are painted chrysanthemums and butterflies. Gilded highlights throughout. In excellent condition - the only fault is a small loss of paint to the top edge rim.

19th Century Chinese Lidded Pot
A pretty straight-sided 19th century Chinese lidded pot. In the famille rose style, but with turquoise-coloured background. The panels show birds in tree branches - one side shows the birds with blossom and fir cones, and the other side just shows them with the fir branches. The lid has a band of pink decoration around another panel of birds. Pot stands 9.5cm (3.3/4 inches) high and is 8.3cm (3.1/4 inches) diameter. It has cracks and an old repair to the lid (see photos). The body has a few rim nibbles to the top (inside where the lid covers it). A nice piece for a decorative collection.

Early Noritake Cake Plate.
Beautiful handled cake plate, fine porcelain with gold decoration and embossed surface. Deep royal blue highlights. Rather Art Nouveau design, would date from early half of 20th century. Carries the "M" in the wreath mark, "Hand painted", "Nippon". Plate measures 25cm across (9.3/4 inches). Excellent condition, just a little wear to the gilding.
