Black and Silver Cocktail Handkerchief. Gorgeous 1920s hankie - for an evening out dancing, or for the cocktail party. Very fine light black lawn, with leaf-shaped net edges embroidered with flowers in silver thread. Hankie measures 26.5 cm square (10.1/2 inches square). Excellent condition.

Victorian Childs Shift. Pretty Broiderie Anglais trim to a cotton child’s shift. Victorian/Edwardian period, circa 1880-1905. This item has been well worn, and there is wear through the fabric on front under central tab, and around inner neck, where trim has been restitched. There is a nick in the lace of the bottom edge. Details such as shoulder straps have been reattached (roughly) , and the waist length has been altered. All home-made. Length from shoulders is 66cm (26 inches). Charming piece of household history.  

Early 20th Century Bridal Veil. Lovely white bride’s veil, with open embroidery of flowers on the corners and a looping scalloped edge. Flowers are chain-stitched. Veil is approx. 280 cm by 250 cm, although as it is stretchy it is hard to measure accurately. It is net, in a slightly shiny thread. It has approx. 5 small holes, otherwise very good condition. Probably dates around 1930s.

Vintage Fake Fur Jacket. Fully lined vintage fake fur jacket - double breasted effect to front, 6 buttons. Label says Acrilan. Nairn Deep Pile Fabric, Nairn Fashion Fabrics. English made. Size is at least an 18. Very good condition. Circa 1970s to early 1980s.

1960s Royal Blue Lace Dress. Knee length dress, circa 1960s. Side zip, scoop neck, and lace style fabric over full lining. Some small faults, blue lace has rubbed a little bit. Label says "Care Free Fashions, Made in New Zealand. Size SW (small women's)" . About a size NZ10. (USA size 8).

Black Velvet & Red Lurex Party Dress Striking colours! Black crushed velvet strapless bustier style boned top, with black net flounced underskirt (over black lining). Top layer (drop waist) is red lurex. Red comes to just above the knee, the black net comes below the knee. No maker’s label, probably about an NZ size 12 - 14 (USA size 10-12) . Excellent condition. I think the bust is about 34-35 inches.

Long Black Dress, Cut Velvet Bodice. Modern long black dress, with hem detailing that rises slightly in the front. Long sleeves, high scoop neck, high waist - under the bust. Skirt fabric is handprinted black on black,. Slight metallic thread effect to fabric. Size would be about an NZ 10 (USA size 8). Excellent condition.

Vintage 1960s Green Silk Shantung Short Dress Waisted, slim skirted silk shantung dress. Mid jade/sage green. Scoop neck, fabric flower detail on side. Sleeves have a rouched detail. Side zip. Label reads "An Original Creation by Margaux of Melbourne. (Made in New Zealand). Size 18". Fully lined. Condition is very good - there are some wear marks above the zip, and a dart has been let out down the side around the waist. Could be resewn if size needs it. Very 1960s. Photo isn’t flattering, as it was too big for the dummy.

Green and Gold Striped Dress and Coat. Suitable for Mother of the Bride, or wedding guest. Dress and matching coat, lightweight fabric, fully lined. The stripe is gold and black, against a jade green. Dress has a scoop neck, rear zip, and contrast detail at the bottom of the skirt. Beautiful bow over rear kick- split. This is echoed in the coat, which is very simple in detail, but has matching rear bow and contrast stripe detail. Dress is 122 cm long from the shoulder. Coat has three quarter length sleeves. No maker’s marks, these would have been custom made for some event. Size: about an NZ size 14-16 (USA size 12-14). Condition: there are some bleach marks on the lower inside lining. The hem of the dress has a moth hole, but could be taken up to hide this. There is a hole on the rear of the shoulder of the coat - could be repaired with what is left from the dress hem (very tiny) or possibly darned? Otherwise very good condition. Length is about 122 cm long from shoulder (48 inches).
This outfit doesn’t look at all good on the dummy - much better on a real person!

Pink Rouched Top Dress with Net Skirt. Really retro flirty dress, rouched top over lining, shoestring straps, dropped waist, and full net skirt over matching lining. (Definite pink - looks a bit peachy in the photos, but is really pink). Very Hollywood starlet. Net fabric has an embroidered design of flower sprigs and dots. Maker’s label is Thornton Hall, made in New Zealand. Size NZ 12 (USA size 10). Nylon. Condition: Very good, with a few holes to the skirt lining. The straps need replacing, as they are a bit worn. Great dress, dating from early 1980s.

1970s Long Dress, Patterned Lurex Effect. Long dress with long sleeves, tie back, and bodice with covered buttons. Slightly puff sleeves. Long zip at back. Pattern is olive, mauve, pink patterned fabric, shot with silver thread. Very 1970s, almost hippie. Label is for The Globe Shop, Bath (England), and another for Toplet, Made in England. Looks like a size 14-16. Very good condition.

Vintage Long Ice Aqua Blue Dress with Train. Suitable for the Queen! A long ball dress, high neck, floating cape detail, which is gathered from the rear neckline. Side zip. High collar to front neck, straight-through line to dress, with darts shaping waist area. Fabric is sheer aqua blue net patterned with silver, over matching aqua blue lining. Maker’s label has been cut out. Size would be about 16. Very good condition. Probably dates from the 1960s. Photos aren’t very flattering, as it was a bigger size than the dummy. Better in the flesh!
