Japanese Bronze Ovoid Vase, Signed. Beautiful classic shape - simple and perfect. Bronze vase, signed underneath (see photo). The sides are beautifully patinated, and have some crimson colour effects. Heavy piece, a superb vase. Quite small, measures 16 cm high and 7.25 cm diameter at the shoulders (6.1/4 inches high and 2.7/8 inch diameter at the widest point). Has a small short scratch mark on one side, otherwise perfect.

Chinese Brass Vase, Circa 1920s. Heavy brass vase, stamped "China" underneath. Relief decoration of branches and animal (bird? fish?). Vase stands 23 cm high and 12 cm diameter (9 inches by approx. 4.3/4 inches). Excellent condition.

Kuomintang Rank Badge, Sterling Silver. Sterling silver pendant - actually a rank badge or badge of importance for a mid level official in the Kuomintang. Circa Chiang Kai-Shek. Stamped on the reverse Silver 925. Badge measures 23 mm diameter (15/16 inch). Excellent condition. Needs a silver O ring on the bale at the top.

Chinese Silver Dish with Straits Dollar Base Small 900 silver dish, with the base being a Straits dollar, with sampan on one side, and head on other. Nice shaped rim to dish. Silver mark and maker’s mark is "Wai Kee. 90 Silver" and a character mark. Dish measures 9 cm diameter (3.1/2 inches). Excellent condition.

Coffee Pot and Jug, Handworked All Over. Interesting metal jug and coffee pot - beautifully executed all-over hand-worked engraved design of leaves and foliage in a scrolling art nouveau style design. The finial of the pot is a nut, and there are to further nuts on the handles of both jug and pot. The pot has heat-stop rings to the handle, possibly in wood. Not sure what the metal is - it is silver in colour, but very heavy. Possibly a polished leadless pewter, or a low grade silver. No maker’s marks anywhere, but the design is definitely from the East - probably Dutch East Indies. Coffee pot (or could be for tea or hot water) is 16.5 cm high and 19.5 cm handle to spout (6.1/2 inches and 7.3/4 inches). The jug is 10 cm high and 11.5 cm handle to spout (4 inches and 4.1/2 inches). Excellent condition.

Vintage Chinese Cloisonne Napkin Ring. Cloisonné on brass Chinese napkin ring, yellow bird with pink, green and blue flowers on black cloud background with blue border. Turquoise enamel inside. Good heavy weight. Measures 2.8 cm high and 5.2 cm diameter (1.1/8 inches high and 2 inches diameter). Excellent condition outer - inside has a little marking on lower edge. If you use napkin rings, especially with guests staying, cloisonne rings are excellent, since they are all different, but uniformly attractive. Everyone will recognize the one they have been given, and it saves a lot of sorting out of table napkins!

Antique Lacquered Vase, Large. A large black metal vase, with Japanese style lacquer work in red and gold of a bird flying through wisteria blossom. Vase measures 33cm high (13 inches) and approx. 18cm (7 inches) wide at its widest point. Under the base, there is the scratched name "Dresdor. France", but this vase is probably Japanese or Chinese. Maybe it was bought in France. No chips or cracks, just a few spots in the lacquer, and fading to the brick red design. A very Edwardian looking vase, would look great with large flowers. Would date from late 19th to early 20th century.

Oriental Antimony Inkwell. A small inkwell, probably Japanese, but could be Chinese. It is made in the metal antimony, and decorated with a beautiful pattern of chrysanthemums in high relief. The lid hinges open to reveal a white glass inkwell liner. The liner has a sort of chip on the inner rim (see photo) - it’s not at all sharp, rather rounded in fact, could be old, or in the manufacture, as the glass is moulded , and quite crude. Inkwell measures 6cm x 5cm (2.3/8 inches x 2.1/8 inches). About 3cm high (1.1/4 inches). It is in very good condition although there is an ink stain under the lid (which may well clean off). Probably dates from 1920s-50s. Airmail Post to North America: US$6.75.

Very Fine Cloisonne Vase with Roses. An exceptionally fine example of cloisonné is this pale blue vase, with decoration of roses. Silvered metal mounts.
Good heavy weight, and absolutely tip top condition.
Measures 19 cm high and just under 10 cm diameter at its widest (7.1/2 inches high by 3.7/8 inches diameter).

Pair of 19th Century Cloisonne Vases. Beautiful late 19th century cloisonné vases, with glitter highlights in the enamel, and rich colours of royal blue, green and dark terracotta. Vases each measure 6 inches high (15.5 cm) and just under 3 inches diameter (7.4 cm). Overall very good condition - a few minor faults: two small bruises in the enamel at the shoulder, one on each vase (see photo).

Japanese Bronze Dish with Gilding. 19th century bronze dish with woven copper edge - the centre oval bronze plaque has a scene of two men winnowing rice. Their clothes and dishes have gilded highlights, and there are gilded flowers surrounding them. The edge is copper, woven to look like basket weave. Whole measures 21 cm by 24 cm (8.1/4 inches by 9.1/2 inches). The basket weave edging has become a little out of true, and there are a few marks on the bronze, but overall condition is good and sound Rear of the bronze has 5 Japanese script marks - signature.

Chinese Silver Ashtray with Straits Dollar. Chinese export silver ashtray with a Straits silver dollar in the base. The coin is stamped for 1902. The hallmarks are rubbed, but it is 900 silver, and the maker’s initials are B.W. Ashtray measures 8 cm by 8 cm (3.1/8 inches square). Excellent condition.
