Sterling Silver Pin Cushion and Trinket Box. A round sterling silver trinket box, with the lid as a pin cushion. Hall marks are rubbed, but look like maker’s mark H.M. Birmingham 1914. The pincushion lid lifts to reveal a silk-lined trinket box. (Trinket box/pin cushion can be lifted out of the silver surround. The silver is in very good condition. Pin cushion lid has been recovered by hand., with some stitches showing at the rear around the hinge. Measures 9cm diameter at base (3.1/2 inches) and stands 4.75cm (almost 2 inches ) high.

Hand Stitiched Tapestry Seat Cover. A cross stitch “tapestry” panel, made to cover a music stool. This has been worked in wool on commercial four-thread weave stiffened mesh, and was done in the 1960s. Background is a pinky beige. Never used after completion - excellent condition. Worked area measures 62.5cm by 32cm (24.5/8 inches by 12.5/8 inches - with a mesh border all around this.

Crochet Covered Vintage Pin Cushion. A large vintage home made pin cushion, made in red satin with a crochet outer cover - gives an effect of a small pillow. Frilled crochet around the edges. Measures approx. 14cm square (5.1/2 inches). Excellent condition.

American Treen Pin Cushion, Bucket. A treen pin cushion, a turned wood little bucket, with Big Tree, California on it. Pin cushion part is bristles, very tight together. Darker lines form decoration around the pail.
Measures 6.5cm high, not including the handle (2.1/2 inches). Top is 6.6cm diameter (just over 2.1/2 inches).
Excellent condition.
Circa: Early half of 20th century

Victorian Wool Work Tapestry, Framed. A Victorian period tapestry - late 19th century. The subject is large roses, surrounded by a border of leaves. Possibly made to be a stool seat or table screen panel. The roses are given texture by using finer and coarser stitches and wool. Generally, the pattern is worked in thicker wool, and the background in fine. There is a part of the black border where for some reason brown has been used. Oval panel measures 42 cm by 32 cm (16.1/2 inches by 12.1/2 inches). The whole, frames measures 66 cm by 52 cm (26 inches by 20.1/2 inches).
Very good condition overall - possibly some fading to roses colour. Beige mount, gold frame.

Edwardian Long Pin Cushion and Trinket Box. Silver plated long box with hinged lid - lid is a pin cushion, and inside is for jewellery or hair pins.
Once it was silk inside and purple velvet outside - now the inner silk is still intact, but has faded and showing signs of wear. Outside, the velvet has faded and lost all its nap. Sawdust stuffing can be seen through the top. The silver plate is still in excellent condition. This item dates from circa 1900-1910.
It measures 15 cm long and 6.3 cm wide. It stands about 6.5 cm high (6 inches by 2.1/2 inches and about 2.1/2 inches high).

Sterling Silver Pin Cushion and Trinket Box. A serpentine shaped sterling silver pin cushion, on which the lid lifts to reveal a silk-lined trinket box. English. Maker’s mark: A.C. Co. Hallmarks for Birmingham 1912. Measures 11cm wide (4.3/8 inches) and 7.75cm deep (just over 3 inches). Height is approx. 5cm (2 inches). The pin cushion has been recovered. Condition of the silver is very good. The inside of the trinket box shows a little patch of wood where the fabric of the hinge is joined. Bottom of whole item is loose, but this is fairly normal and can easily be strengthened with a little glue. Trinket box/pin cushion can be lifted out of the silver surround, and is velvet on the outside. A pretty little item.

Metal and Leather Thimble. A thimble, made from a metal thimble top, with a pig-skin leather finger stall stitched to it. Very effective for heavy work. Thimble top measures 16mm diameter (5/8/inch) and the leather skirt is 40mm long (1.9/16 inch). Very good condition.

Sterling Silver Thimble. A large, heavy sterling silver thimble. (Marked “Sterling. 1.”) Measures 2.3cm high, and 1.6cm internal diameter at the base. (Just over 7/8 inch high, and 5/8 inch internal base diameter). Has nice rope edge to base. Very good condition.
