Pug Dog Victorian Money Box.
A charming large 19th century ceramic earthenware money box or bank, in the form of a pug dog. It has a slot in the back of the neck to receive the money. This was the variety which was made to be broken when the money was retrieved. The painted slip on the outside of the dog is chipping off along his back and top sides. He has a red painted collar. In condition as photos show - one rear leg has been glued on, but it is a clean, unobtrusive break. He’s a lovely item - really charming in his age and crudeness - and rather long-legged for a pug! Measures 21cm (8.1/4 inches) from his nose to his curly tail, and is the same measurement high.

Pair of Wall Plaques, Porcelain Cherubs
A superb duo of wall plaques - not really a pair, but by the same hand. No maker’s marks except an inscribed stamped 69, followed by a hand written (in gold) 70. One of the two has the letter "F" also inscribed, in a sans serif face. European origin, judging by the way the 7 is written. Very fine work, with beautiful detailing . One pair of winged cherubs have a basket of grapes on their lap, and sit among grape vines , with other fruit at their feet, and decorated fabric drapes. This plaque is in excellent condition, no damage at all. The other has two cherubs, one presumably a girl, with a pair of doves on the lap. A little black and red robin sits beside them. They are seated amongst pine boughs, and have similar drapery to the first pair. This plaque has some minor damage to the plant material on the sides (leafs chipped, a branch broken) and there is also a chip to the trunk below their feet. The cherubs and drapery are perfect. Plaques are hung by a metal suspension loop on the reverse of each. They measure approx. 17cm by 17cm (6.3/4 inches by 6.3/4 inches) each.
Circa: Mid to Late 19th Century
Condition: Very Good - see description

Bisque Style Basset Hound Figurine.
An early dog figurine, with the characteristic long ears and short legs of the Basset Hound. I don’t know how old this item is - it could be Victorian, or early 20th century. It is matt glaze, not quite true bisque, but very similar - with no maker’s marks, and wear to the paint on the tail and body, where he has been handled over the years. Handpainted eyes, and a black nose - the nose again having some wear to the paint. A large figurine, he measures approx. 5.3/4 inches long, 3.3/4 inches deep and 3.1/2 inches high (14.5cm by 9.5cm by 9cm). His coat colour is pale brown, yellowish tones, with white and pinkish area on snout. No chips or cracks. We have another similar spaniel-style dog from the same estate - elsewhere in this category.
Circa: Late 19th or early 20th century
Condition: Used, Very Good
