Maori Bone Carving on Chain. Vintage small bone carving - small paddle or possibly mere on long fine chain. The carving measures 43 mm by 20 mm (1.3/4 inches by 3/4 inch). Quite light, and in very good condition. The chain is very fine, and has a pretty design of link. It is quite long, and has no clasp (put it on over your head). It measures 640 mm long (25.1/4 inches). It is gold in colour, and is probably rolled gold
All date from 1970s or earlier. Very good condition.

Vintage Masai Beaded Bracelet. This lovely beadwork bracelet is about 40 years old. Made by the Masai tribe of Southern Africa.
Tiny glass coloured beads strung on wire with green spacer bars. Little wire loops and hooks as a clasp. Bracelet measures 2.7 cm deep. It has an internal diameter of about 5.8 cm (1 inch by 2.1/4 inches). Excellent original condition.

New Zealand Jade Carved Pendant, Large. Beautiful New Zealand greenstone pendant (jade - nephrite) - the design is the Maori toki or adze, which was an implement for building, and here symbolises the building of friendships. Greenstone jade is a sacred stone to the Maori people of New Zealand, and these are Maori made. This is a new large sized pendant, and comes with the traditional twisted twine thong. At the end is a jade toggle which fastens through a twine loop. We have several of these hand carved new pendants, and they all differ slightly in length or width. The photo shows a representative item. Pendant measures approx. 6 cm by 2.8 cm (2.5/16 inches by 1.1/8 inch).

Necklace, Coral, Lapis and Cornelian. Slim, Afghani tribal style necklace, made in tubular lapis lazuli beads with little silver and cornelian beads interspersed along the way, and a central area with a rough natural red coral bead. Necklace measures 46 cm long (18 inches). Excellent condition.

Jade Drop Earrings, New Zealand Jade. Beautiful New Zealand jade earrings ( nephrite jade, called Greenstone by the New Zealand Maori) - they are perfectly plain with a squared top and chiselled adze style front - this is the Toki pattern, representing the axe adze implement for building, now meaning building of friendships. Hypoallergenic wires. Greenstone jade is a sacred stone to the Maori people of New Zealand, and these are Maori made. We have several pairs of these hand carved new earrings, and they all differ slightly in length or width. The photo shows a representative pair. They measure approx. 40 to 45 mm long, and 8 mm to 10 mm wide (1.1/2 inches to 1.3/4 inches by approx. 3/8 inch).

Lapis and Cornelian Necklace. Beautiful tribal-style necklace of dark blue graduated lapis lazuli beads, with a central are having embossed silver and cornelian beads. Cornelian beads are about 13 mm diameter (1/2 inch), and the largest lapis beads are about 9 mm diameter (5/16 inch). Necklace is 525 mm long (about 20.3/4 inches). Excellent condition

Azores Scrimshaw Walrus Tusk Pendant, signed. This pendant from the Azores is a cross section of either a sperm whale tooth, or a walrus tusk. It has a modern scrimshaw of a sailing ship on the polished front face. The rear face is plain and unpolished. The scrimshaw is signed "J". Pendant measures 5 cm by 2.7 cm (just under 2 inches by 1.1/8 inches). Excellent condition.

Vintage Tribal Necklace. A necklace strung using a central large ball, with groups of 6 strings of orange glass beads on either side. Neck mount is plaited red wool, which you can tie at any length required. Large central bead is 3.7cm diameter (just under 1.1/2 inches). Length of bead part of necklace is 39.5cm (15.1/2 inches), with the plaited wool being a further approx. 25.5cm (10 inches) on each side. The wool part could be removed and a different style of clasp fitted if necessary, but the orange and red together give a great colour combination.

Sino-Tibetan Silver & Cornelian Flint Burner. An unusual belt ornament, Sino-Tibetan in origin. It is made in silver, with a cornelian bead at the lower end. The shape is like a vase, with handles and pierced -work decoration of a bird in foliage on one side, and possibly a rat in a grape vine on the other. Bottom pulls out to reveal a tube with blackened metal wadding or flint in it. Suspended on a chain with a large hook to loop over a belt. Very nice work, with unusual decoration. The urn and ball bead measure 9 cm in length, and the suspension chain is another 11.5 cm including the hook (3.1/2 inches and 4.1/2 inches). Excellent condition.

Sino-Tibetan Silver & Cornelian Belt Ornament A small belt ornament, made in silver openwork with a pattern of flowers. A cornelian bead is suspended from the bottom. The silver work is suspended from a pretty length of chain, and a top hook in the shape of a spade. Whole, from hook to bead measures about 8.5 cm (3.3/8 inch). Excellent condition.
