7506

Coffee Pot and Jug, Handworked All Over. Interesting metal jug and coffee pot - beautifully executed all-over hand-worked engraved design of leaves and foliage in a scrolling art nouveau style design. The finial of the pot is a nut, and there are to further nuts on the handles of both jug and pot. The pot has heat-stop rings to the handle, possibly in wood. Not sure what the metal is - it is silver in colour, but very heavy. Possibly a polished leadless pewter, or a low grade silver. No maker’s marks anywhere, but the design is definitely from the East - probably Dutch East Indies. Coffee pot (or could be for tea or hot water) is 16.5 cm high and 19.5 cm handle to spout (6.1/2 inches and 7.3/4 inches). The jug is 10 cm high and 11.5 cm handle to spout (4 inches and 4.1/2 inches). Excellent condition.
Circa: Early 20th Century
Condition: Excellent

C9408

Silver Eastern Bowl, High Repousse Pattern Very attractive silver bowl, with design of differing Eastern figures in high relief around the sides. Bowl measures 6.5 cm high and 12 cm diameter (just over 2.1/2 inches by 4.3/4 inches). It has four silver marks underneath, none of which I can decipher - one or two appear to be Chinese figures, including the "running man" symbol - this item is probably from Thailand, or the Straits area. It is very fine work. Bowl is in very good condition.
Circa: Early 20th Century
Condition: Very Good - see description

C6145

Two Pepperettes, Victorian Period, Sterling. Two little pepper pots - very similar in design, but bearing different hallmarks. One is very fractionally shorter than the other, and the design while almost identical, is slightly smaller in detail. One pot is hallmarked for Birmingham 1892, and the other for Chester 1892. One has its marks underneath, the other has them on the neck. Both tops are also hallmarked, on their inside rim. Pots are very ornate, with scrolling embossed design of flowers and acanthus foliage. Central cartouches are unengraved. One pot measures 7.7cm high, the other 7.5cm high (a fraction over 3 inches and 2.15/16 inches high). The widest point is 3.75cm diameter (1.1/2 inches). The top on the Birmingham one is loose, but this is easily fixed by a silversmith. Slight dent up underneath the base of this one. The Chester pot has some tiny dents in the neck, nothing serious or ugly though. Otherwise, both are in very good condition. Maker’s mark for the Birmingham pot is HE and RS.. The maker on the Chester pot is rubbed, but looks like BR... (maybe S).
