Silver Manicure Set in Original Box, 1927.
A beautiful boxed manicure set - the box folds out, and has a mirror-lined lid. The six manicure tools all have sterling silver handles, and plated steel lowers, except the two pairs of scissors (one straight, one curved) which are all steel. The set also contains two ointment bottles and a nail buffer. The bottles are crystal with sterling silver lids engraved ..something L, and the buffer is silver with a chamois leather pad. Hallmarks are for Birmingham 1927. Maker’s mark is W.D. This set is in excellent condition throughout - there are minor faults such as wear to the internal silk which covers a hinge, some scuffing to the implements, and a small dent on the edge of one lid - but overall it is in stunning condition for its age. Box measures 5 cm high, and 20 cm by 12.25 cm ( 2 inches high, and 8 inches by 4.2/3 inches).
Circa: 1927
Condition: Excellent

Sterling Silver Pin Cushion and Trinket Box.
A serpentine shaped sterling silver pin cushion, on which the lid lifts to reveal a silk-lined trinket box. English. Maker’s mark: A.C. Co. Hallmarks for Birmingham 1912. Measures 11cm wide (4.3/8 inches) and 7.75cm deep (just over 3 inches). Height is approx. 5cm (2 inches). The pin cushion has been recovered. Condition of the silver is very good. The inside of the trinket box shows a little patch of wood where the fabric of the hinge is joined. Bottom of whole item is loose, but this is fairly normal and can easily be strengthened with a little glue. Trinket box/pin cushion can be lifted out of the silver surround, and is velvet on the outside. A pretty little item.
Circa: 1912
Condition: Used - Very Good

Two Pepperettes, Victorian Period, Sterling.
Two little pepper pots - very similar in design, but bearing different hallmarks. One is very fractionally shorter than the other, and the design while almost identical, is slightly smaller in detail. One pot is hallmarked for Birmingham 1892, and the other for Chester 1892. One has its marks underneath, the other has them on the neck. Both tops are also hallmarked, on their inside rim. Pots are very ornate, with scrolling embossed design of flowers and acanthus foliage. Central cartouches are unengraved. One pot measures 7.7cm high, the other 7.5cm high (a fraction over 3 inches and 2.15/16 inches high). The widest point is 3.75cm diameter (1.1/2 inches). The top on the Birmingham one is loose, but this is easily fixed by a silversmith. Slight dent up underneath the base of this one. The Chester pot has some tiny dents in the neck, nothing serious or ugly though. Otherwise, both are in very good condition. Maker’s mark for the Birmingham pot is HE and RS.. The maker on the Chester pot is rubbed, but looks like BR... (maybe S).
