A Georgian period early English tea cup and saucer dish, painted in polychrome enamels with a mock Chinese design of flowers and figures on a terrace. The figures are two ladies and an attendant with a green parasol. The colours are pretty pinks and greens, with a flower in the bottom of the teacup. The deeply dished un-indented saucer is typical of the period. Unmarked. Possibly Hilditch, or could it be Ridgway? Would date circa 1800-1820. Pattern has printed outlines with hand colouring over. Measurements: Cup is 10cm wide (4 inches) handle to lip, and stands 5cm (2 inches) high. The saucer is 14cm (5.
