Little Victorian period bar brooch, with flowers and the word "Mizpah" (Quotation from the Old Testament meaning "The Lord watch between thee and me, when we are absent one from another"). Mizpah brooches were very popular in Victorian and early Edwardian times as gifts given between lovers or soldiers off to war.
This brooch is in the very popular Victorian 9ct rose gold, and measures 29 mm by 8 mm (1.1/2 inches by 5/16 inch). Very good condition. |
