Large Satsuma Vase. Early 20th century large Satsuma vase - cobalt blue background, with design of peonies on one side, and roses on the other. Typical tube lining to designs. Very large, measuring 63.5 cm tall (25 inches). For NZ market only. Has a blind firing crack in the body - original to manufacture. (It’s difficult to make an earthenware vase of this size, damage sometimes occur in firing). It doesn’t effect the stability of the vase. Minor chip to top rim. Very arresting item.

Satsuma Incense Pot, Cobalt Blues and Gold. Little censor pot, with holes in lid suitable for potpourri or incense pellets. Typical Satsuma earthenware pottery with cobalt blue glazed lid decorated with gilded flower heads. Side panels have a scene with figures by a lake, and a house with jetty on a lake. Pot measures about 10 cm high, and 9.5 cm diameter (not including the handles). Little gilded temple dog to lid finial. Some minor wear to lid gilding, and a couple of minor marks inside. Otherwise in excellent condition. Circa 1920s-30s.

Large Ginger Jar, Chinese Porcelain with Butterflies. Very attractive Chinese porcelain ginger jar - the stamp underneath says "Stanley. Hand Decorated in Hong Kong." The pattern is all different sizes, shapes and colours of butterflies. Jar stands about 21 cm high and about 15.5 cm diameter (approx. 8.1/4 inches high by 6.1/4 inches diameter). Excellent condition.

Damaged 18th Century Chinese Plate. Lovely 18th century Chinese plate, pretty decoration of blossom, peonies and chrysanthemum - sadly damaged, has been broken in one area and re-glued. There is scope here for professional restoration - the breaks are clean. Plate measures 23 cm diameter (9 inches) and has a beautiful blue tinge to the porcelain.

Large Satsuma Vase, Deities in Sculpted Relief. Large 1930s Japanese Satsuma pottery vase. It has the characteristic cream crackle glaze background with deities sculpted in relief. They each have gold halos and scenes of birds, pagodas, waterfalls and other. Vase measures 32 cm high and about 19 cm diameter (12.1/2 inches by 7.1/2 inches). Minor wear to gilding on two highest relief areas, excellent condition. No damage.

Pair of Japanese Imari Bowls. Pair of Imari bowls with characteristic underglaze cobalt blue and overglaze iron red and gold. Also underglaze small green medallions. Scalloped edges, slightly lobed body, unglazed in recess under foot rim. Flying bird motif in backstamp area. Probably Meiji period. They each measures 5 cm high and 15 cm diameter. Excellent condition.

Chinese Blue and White Qing Dynasty Dish. Very nice antique Chinese blue and white dish, with bamboo, garden and pond decoration. Octagonal shape, with pale brown rim edge. Nice fine porcelain. No marks to rear, but probably late Ming or, most likely, Qing dynasty. Dished shape, 3.6 cm high, 22 cm diameter. Condition is very good - one tiny shallow glaze chip on the rim is the only fault.
