These Copeland and Garrett saucers are claret coloured, with floral and gilt decoration. Additional back mark is 5219 with a V. They are in the old style hand-wired plate-hangers. Each saucer is 6 inches in diameter, and just under 1 inch high. Body-wise, they are in very good condition, with no chips or cracks. The gilding over the maroon is very thick and rich, and the floral panels are enchanting in their detail. Some honourable wear to the claret background commensurate with the age of the saucers.
A Treen sewing clamp from the Victorian era, made of pale turned wood with a pin cushion top and a bracket attched to its side. The pin cushion has lost its stuffing, but otherwise this item is in very good condition. Measures about 7 inches high and 2 inches diameter. (18cm x 5cm.) Airmail Post to North America: US$7.50.
A sterling silver decanter or bottle label for your sherry. It is hallmarked Birmingham 1991. Measures: Label is 2 inches (5cm) wide and 1.1/16 high (2.7cm) - in very good condition.
A bone china souvenir mug or cup from the Wellington Provincial Centenary 1840-1940. Amazing Art Deco “lightning” handle. Front shows a scene of Wellington in 1840, and the other side shows Wellington in 1940. Made by Royal Scenic China, IBC, Bohemia. Excellent condition. Measures 7cm high (2.3/4 inches) and 10cm wide (4 inches) including the handle.
A 9ct gold brooch in a very attractive setting: the shape of a flower-head. It is set with turquoise beads around the outside edge. and has a cultured pearl in the centre. The gold has been brushed to give it the texture of plants. The reverse is fully hallmarked as 9ct gold (9.375 ) London (imported goods mark) 1969, and the makers marks is "...HL". The brooch measures 3cm diameter. (1.1/8 inches.) In excellent condition.
A 19th century Victorian period porcelain tea cup and saucer. Lavishly hand-gilded decoration . Unmarked - no maker’s name. In very good condition, no chips or cracks. Cup measures 4 inches (10cm) handle to rim, and stands 2.5/8 inches (6.6cm) high. Saucer is 5.3/4 inches (14.5cm) in diameter.
A very pretty hand made antique English bobbin (pillow) lace collar, dating from around 1880-1910. The design is a central floral motif, with leaves stretching out on either side. It measures 11 inches wide (28cm), and from 3-5 inches (7.5 -13cm) deep. In very good overall condition.
A very attractive good quality sterling silver salver made by Hicklenton & Phillips, London 1938. Sitting on four claw-and-ball feet, it has a beaded shaped rim. Weight: 225grms. Measures 18cm (7 inches) diameter, and stands 2cm (3/4 inch) high. In very good condition, has a few very very minor tiny indentations in top.
A sterling silver medal, with a scene of a figure about to dive into the water, where another figure raises an arm from the water in a cry for assistance. No one won this medal! -The reverse of the medal is blank, apart from the hallmark, which is Birmingham 1918. In excellent condition. Medal measures 2.8cm (1.1/8 inches) diameter.
Silver T Bar - as used as the button-hole keeper on a fob watch or Albert chain. These are often worn as a sliding centre piece on a chain necklace, especially a converted fob chain. T Bar is stamped "Silver" and the makers mark "W.J.S." Measurements 1.1/2 inches long. Rod is 1/8 inch diameter. (3.8cm long. 2mm diameter.) Very good condition.
A large round platter decorated with bands of brown around the dished rim, and a central motif much in the style of Susie Cooper. Made by Grindley, England. (One of the Staffordshire Potteries). The mark is for circa 1954 on. In very good condition. Measures 33cm (13 inches) diameter, and 3.5cm (just over 1.1/4 inches) high.
A very pretty 14 carat yellow & white gold ring set with a central emerald flanked by 16 small grain set Brilliant cut diamonds. The setting is cushion shaped, with the emerald in the centre of a star ,flanked by 4 diamonds at each point. These points are surrounded by the other diamonds set around the perimeter of the star. The setting is filigree. The oval emerald measures 3.2mm x 4mm, and the diamonds are approx 0.0075ct each. The emerald is of good medium colour and brilliance. Ring is cast-made, total weight 2.4gms.Ring fitting is English size N (equivalent USA size is 6.1/2). In excellent condition, but one small diamond is missing. This ring comes with a valuation, some 10 years old - in this it values at NZ$1,000.00. This is before gold began to rise so steeply, so is very conservative by today's rates.
A beautiful vase by the British designer Charlotte Rhead. Made by Crown Ducal potteries, (A.G. Richardson & Co ) of Tunstall in the Staffordshire Potteries. This would have been made in the 1930’s, and is in the typical colours of the era, dark apple green, cream, orange and pewter. It is decorated in Charlotte Rhead’s trademark tube lining, and is signed by her on the base. (See photos). In very good condition. It measures 14.5cm (5.3/4 inches) high and is 16.5cm (6.1/2 inches) wide handle to handle.
A beautiful antique sterling silver taper stick, in the Georgian style. It stands 11.5cm (4.1/2 inches) high and is 7cm (2.3/4 inches) square at the base. It has a well shaped base with classical decoration, and a turned and faceted stem. The hallmark is for the Edwardian period: Sheffield (England) 1902. There is an old professional repair to the stem, above the first knob. (See photo). A really lovely piece.
A pretty straight-sided 19th century Chinese lidded pot. In the famille rose style, but with turquoise-coloured background. The panels show birds in tree branches - one side shows the birds with blossom and fir cones, and the other side just shows them with the fir branches. The lid has a band of pink decoration around another panel of birds. Pot stands 9.5cm (3.3/4 inches) high and is 8.3cm (3.1/4 inches) diameter. It has cracks and an old repair to the lid (see photos). The body has a few rim nibbles to the top (inside where the lid covers it). A nice piece for a decorative collection.
A Georgian period teacup and saucer with polychrome transfer chinoiserie decoration of two Oriental ladies with a male figure carrying a bouquet: “who is going to get the bouquet?”. Hand painted highlight colours. The backstamp is a D. surrounded by decoration - probably the mark of Thomas Dimmock (Jnr) and Co, of the Staffordshire Potteries, England. The pottery operated from 1828 to 1859. This would have been made in the early period. The saucer is deeply dished with no indentation, and measures 14cm (5.1/2 inches) diameter and 2.8cm high (just over 1 inch). The cup is 5.5cm (2.1/8 inches) high and is 9cm (3.1/2 inches ) diameter at the top. In very good condition.

A great 19th century circular cane basket, probably for clothes or laundry. It measures 22 inches diameter and 30 inches high (56cm x 76cm), so quite high. In good condition, some struts missing, but very sound and decorative.
A very nice ladder back Windsor chair, Victorian period, and made in beautiful elm. It is a carver chair, and stands 35 inches (89cm) high, 20.1/2 inches (52cm) wide and approx 18.1/2 inches (47cm) deep. The seat is contoured, it has turned legs and a pegged frame. A very comfortable country chair. It has an old minor repair (see last photo) and is in very good condition.
