Lovely vintage bakelite pot with screw lid. Art Deco, 1920s. Lid has the name "Bayleys & Co, London, Soap Makers since 1739" on it, along with several patent numbers. Underneath pot is slightly domed, with "Chubby" stamped on it. I think this was a shaving soap stick, and that the pot actually sat with the flat side down, and the domed area as the top. Measures 5 cm high and 6.7 cm diameter (2 inches by 2.5/8 inches). Excellent condition.
Vintage travel cup - collapses down to one ring size. It has a fault (split) in one ring, so would not hold liquid, but is ideal as a little vase if you put a small glass tumbler inside. Great vintage colour, would look good in a Deco interior. It measures 8.3 cm high when up, and 3 cm high when collapsed. Diameter is 6.3 cm (3.1/4 inches up or 1.1/4 inches when down, and 2.1/2 inches diameter).
Bakelite Viewmaster, model E, 1955-1961. Excellent condition to case. Eye lens look a bit dirty, but you can’t see this at all when looking through the eye pieces. Brown bakelite case with cream lever. Includes one vintage colour disc of "Pinocchio".
Orange and white speckled Bakelite eggcup. Maker’s name underneath "Duperite" Measures 6.5cm at base and is 4cm high (2.1/2 inches by 1.1/2 inches). A few minor marks, but in very good condition.
Large plastic novelty jug (hard shiny plastic - maybe celluloid) - figural shape, Dennis the Menace in cowboy costume with gun for the spout, and hand on holster at other side for handle. The crown of the hat is the lid of the jug. All in painted red, black and silver on cream background. Quite large, measures about 26 cm high (just over 10 inches), and 17 cm wide (6.3/4 inches). Condition: Some paint losses and brown marks, a crack in the jug rim (the hat brim) and a minor tiny hairline in the hat crown. Some dirt which would clean off. Very kitsch!
Edwardian period tatted table cloth, with a Bee hive and the motto "Industry Rewarded". Fringed edges. Cloth measures 94 cm by 140 cm (37 inches by 55 inches). Excellent condition - the fringes need combing out though. Shown here on the only table available when photographing, a round one, where as this cloth needs a small rectangular table.
Vintage 1930s-50s table cloth, embroidered with flowers, and having a wide crochet border. Linen with cotton crochet. Border measures 8.9 cm deep (3.1/2 inches). The tablecloth measures 120 cm by 123 cm (47.1/4 inches by 48.1/2 inches). Condition: one yellowish stain in one corner, some tiny wear holes (darnable). See photos.
Early 20th century cotton pillow case with broad tatting edges. Measures 46.5 cm by 69 cm (18.1/4 inches by 27.1/4 inches). There are some faults: damage in one area to the tatting (see photo), and some small rust spots.
Small square table cloth, good quality fine linen worked in broiderie anglais floral sprays to the corners, and a central round motif with flowers. Very fine embroidery. Wide border in typical Edwardian style with drawn thread work. Cloth measures 89 cm by 101 cm (35 inches by 39.1/2 inches). Excellent condition. Really lovely early 20th century cloth.Good for an overcloth on a small round table.
Vintage table cloth, large size, with panels of embroidered cutwork roses and leaves. All joined with crochet in a pale coffee colour. Cloth measures 276 cm by 182 cm (approx. 109 inches by 71.1/2 inches). Excellent condition. No damage. A few minor marks. You can see in the long-shot photo that it dwarfs the round table - it needs a large rectangular table. Beautiful item - hours and hours of work went into this.
Early 20th century dresser or table runner, made in white linen with a pulled-thread border design, and internal square design. Measures 39.5 cm wide and 129 cm long (15.5/8 inches by 50.3/4 inches). Excellent condition.
Good quality damask table napkins, with a self pattern of bamboo leaves. They each measure 56 cm square (22 inches). There are five, and they are in excellent condition.
Large white soft, fine white linen tablecloth or bedspread. It has a beautiful pattern of large poinsettia flowers embroidered in white, and a typical Edwardian wide border joined by drawn thread work. Cloth measures 2.59 m by 1.02 m (102 inches by 90 inches). It has no stains, but has some holes - the biggest is an L shaped tear measuring 4 cm by 2 cm (1.1/2 inches by 3/4 inch). There are some other smaller holes - all are repairable or could be darned, and this is overall a really magnificent cloth and well worth the work.
Unusual small supper cloth - it has multi coloured fringed edges, and cross stitch embroidery of stylised flowers and lines and little dogs, and little donkeys pulling wheeled carts (well.... they could be ponies). Made in cotton linen. Measures 81 cm by 84 cm (31.3/4 inches by 33 inches). Very good condition.
Large white linen cloth, early 20th century, with large pattern of pale aqua green and white lilies or flowers and leaves with black embroidered edges to the appliqué, and blue embroidered detailing, It has a wide border, with drawn thread work in a pale peach colour. Also drawn thread squares around centre are of cloth. There is also a blue thread running along the drawn thread detailing, and some of this blue is unravelling in areas. It has one tear in a corner, and some small repairable holes. See photos. Magnificent thing, most unusual pattern. Cloth measures approx. 2.24 m by 5.24 m (88 inches by 206 inches), so very large. You can see it dwarfs my table!
